Pix from the lovely island of Tioman, Malaysia

So finally I am here, Tioman, with beaches that are considered the top 10 in the world. YES!

After been sent down to the boarder of Singapore (the completely wrong way and 4 hours waste) because the person selling tickets on the bus station didn’t know where Tioman was, I manage to get to Mersing and the harbor are to Tioman.

The boat goes 2 times each day, depending on the tide, and sometimes it doesn’t go at all. Lucky for me, I just had to wait 3 hours. The boat trip takes about 2 hours, and is a beautiful trip through wonderful nice island with fantastic beaches and no people living there. It is in this area that the Robinson contest was filmed (the Survivor in US). You have to decide where to go before you take the trip over from the mainland, since it is hard to get from on of the resort to another. I went for Nipah, a tiny beach area on the south coast of the island, where you are pretty much left to your self. There is a bar/restaurant/reception there, about 10 bungalows and that’s pretty much it. But wonderful place to lie in the hammock and don’t do anything. And as you can see from the pictures, the view is not that bad either, hehe. Here are some pixs from Nipah, from one of my first days. Enjoy!

After a day, an English guy came, so it was nice to have someone to hang out with, since it is pretty much just you and maybe one or to couples there. We got a visit from 2 Australians girls from another resort beach, and spend most of the time we had left on this place with them.

Here is me, the English guy, the two Australian girls and a local guy that worked there.

I left after 3 days for some party and fun to a bigger resort called Air Betang, further up north. Here I met some Norwegians and Swedes, and I guess I don’t have to say that the alcohol consumption went through the roof. We did everything fro jungle walking, to skin dipping in the evenings, to sunbathing and swimming. Some pixs from Air Betang, or as the locals calls it, ABC.

The view from one of the bars, beautiful!!!!

Some people that we meet at the beach, going to school in Singapore.

A local game, where you win a bottle of beer if you manage to turn all the brick by towing daises.

After 6 days in paradise, I went back together with the Norwegians to Mersing. My plane now is to go up to the boarder of Thailand and to some nice islands there, but before that, I have to wait in Mersing for about 2 boring days, since all the buses are full.
